Hands up, it’s time to take action. The world we live in today is full of racial and social injustices and in need of people of all walks of life to come together to not only demand justice to but to understand the value of racial diversity and culture. If there were ever a time to be socially aware, that time is now.
This blog is devoted to sharing my personal passion for racial justice and calling others to join in the understanding of why it is so necessary. As you scroll though my posts you will be engaged on controversial topics that trouble minority groups, the effects of politics, vibrant Purdue student groups that highlight the value of diversity and conversation, the intricacies of student activism, and the racial experiences of my fellow Boilermakers.
I do not claim to be an expert on the fight for racial justice, but I do feel personally attached to this cause and want to share the perspectives I hold as well as the perspectives of those around me. As you journey though this blog you will be exposed to the beauty of diverse backgrounds, the rich culture they hold and a greater understanding of their resilience.
Take some time to read and open your mind. I hope you are moved to reach out to someone who doesn’t quite look like you, hear their story and begin the conversation among those around you about the need for social justice.
Let’s stay “woke” together.
